If I bring my camera to a party or a gathering of people, I tend to take photos of the inanimate objects. It is just easier and more natural for me. Here I am taking a stab at what I always said I would never do. It was painful -- both taking the photos and editing the photos. The shoot was done entirely indoors and I did not use flash. I made a rookie mistake and left my UV filter on the camera lens and ended up with mega reflections from the Christmas tree lights. If I see another reflection, I am going to claw my eyeballs out!
All said and done, I could do this again. But never again indoors. Children tend to get weird, angsty, and bouncy when they are confined to one room for an extended period of time. That makes for a very anxious Sarah! Children don't listen to me, I don't think I have quite developed a "parent" voice or an octave that I successfully yell at and be heard.
Aside from this all being an intense learning lesson for me, I force fed myself Adobe Lightroom 3 for all of my editing. After 6 hours of use, I can safely say that I really like it and can't believe I didn't buy it sooner! It is AMAZING! I won't get into details but will say it has changed my life.
Until next time, I leave you with one of my favorite models:

I wish you well and more confidence in your future endeavors taking pictures of what you do not normally take pictures of. Cute picture of the dog. It's color shines well in the picture. very cool.
Thanks for the words of encouragement and compliment, Cat!
